How my life changed

Hi, my name is Marianna and I am a student at University of Prešov. I would like to write about my life before I met Jesus, how I met Him and how it influenced my life. I was an ordinary teenage girl who was studying hard but also I was smoking, drinking alcohol and constantly preoccupying myself with how to be pretty when meeting boys. Then, 3 months before I reached my 17 I was invited as an animator to summer camp for children from my parish. I was amazed by people who was serving there as the animators. We had a lot of fun together, we cared about kids for free and we didn´t need alcohol or cigarettes to joke, dance or sing. I was thrilled by the atmosphere. The last evening we were discussing and suddenly one boy asked me if he can pray for me. I was perplexed but I agreed, anyway. I was crying during this prayer because I understood fully what is written in Isaiah 43,1-2: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you". With great force I realized the gap between my life before and the way of life these people live. After the camp I continued to pray myself and I realized who call me. I started to attend holy mass regularly and voluntarily, to confess and the young animators introduced me to other young Christians at Alpha course. From this time my life changed completely, I read Bible and simply enjoy the Christianity. Now I understand Romans 6:4 and I live new life of higher quality, it is full of beautiful people and beautiful things, activities, sharing… My dreams come true and I am no more alone. I invite you to join Christians, to learn more about who we believe in and have more joy, more love, more authority and the fullness in Christ.
