A WONDERFUL ADVENTURE WITH CHRIST
A WONDERFUL ADVENTURE WITH CHRIST
Many people believe that living as a Christian means living a life according to certain ceremonies or according to a moral code. That’s what I thought and did for along time. Unfortunately, this life of personal effort leads me to total uncertainty and terrible disappointment. But how did I make a wonderful encounter with Christ? My name is Beach Mavanga, I was born into a family made up essentially of boys of which I am the fourth of them. Since I was young, I was involved in a life of religion. But little by little, I was disappointed by the how poor behavior of many leaders, even some influential members, of the church I attended. Thus, I left this religious environment to embark on a horrible adventure characterized by the passions of youth: immorality, debauchery, banditry, drugs, alcohol and many other things alike. Let me tell you that I have experienced many disappointments and misdeeds, I remember that many of my friends died in this life. It’s to tell you that my life had really lost its true meaning.
But how then did I give my life to Christ? It was February 6, 1990, when I decided to visit an old friend who had already given his life to Christ. And, there I will see someone sharing a pamphlet entitled, “Do you know the Four Spiritual Laws?“. During this sharing, he invited me to accept Christ. During the said sharing, I was overwhelmed by a verse, that of Revelation 3:20 which says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I’ll go home. ” This act helped me to know in the end the love, the plan and the forgiveness of God in my life. So, it was truly a wonderful meeting with Christ for me.
Now what happened to me afterwards?
The complete or total trust in Christ was enough for the rest of my life been transformed. After some lessons for my spiritual growth, Christ made me begin to experience gradually a change from my old life. The things I had attached begin to disappear without my personal effort. Thus, the passage of Zechariah 4: 6 is fulfilled in my life when God says, “It is not by force, nor by power, but by my Spirit.”And today, I live in the full security, Joyce and eternal peace in Jesus Christ and thus find the true meaning of my life.
To You who read this testimony today, know that what Christ did for me, He can also do it in your life today if you let him lead your life sincerely, He says He is the way, the truth and the life and that no one can see the father without him. Beach Mavanga
