You have to walk all the steps

I got that message from the Lord some months ago. I don't know about you, but I have often wanted to skip some steps. Sometimes because I'm in a hurry or I'm just impatient. Other times because it's painful. This time it's about my finance. One of the hardest things to trust God with. I do know, deep in my heart, that He will take care of it, it's just a huge step. Even though it will make me happy. I'm never more happy than when I follow Gods will; He knows what's best for me. And for others.

Twenty yeas ago

When I was about 11 years old, I said to God: “Here's my life. Take it, and do what You want with it. I'm Your servant. I want to follow You and do Your will in all areas.”

Those words, that choice, had big consequences. There's a price when you say yes to Jesus. And it does cost to do His will. Because the enemy hates it! But there's also a blessing. The Lord uses me, ME! to make a change in other people lives. And He uses me as a tool so others can meet Jesus and give their life to Him.

Bigger than me

There's so much I don't understand, I can just guess. Or hope. Pray. The spiritual fight can be so intense that I want to give up and say: “No thank's, God. This is too hard, I retire. Ask someone else.” But than He gives me a glimpse of the harvest, reminding me that it's worth it. We're talking about eternity.

Pain in the ass

It's a strange comfort and an important reminder: The harder the fight is, the more I am a pain in the ass for the enemy – the more essential it is to stand tall! Because the devil is loosing souls.

No impresive record

I'm not a saint, nor a super-christian. There's really not much special about me. I'm an artist that preaches what God tells me to preach. I dream about make a living out of my passion for drama and theatre, but that's so hard, so I have most of my career worked in a church or a mission company. It's so much easier to get payed to talk about Christ than to live as a tent maker. Those who comes to church, expect you to point at Jesus.

Now is the time to change field, preach about Jesus outside of the church. That costs. But I have never been as happy as I am today.

Trust in God

When you show trust and obedience about small things, the Lord will give you larger tasks. The more you trust Him and do as He says, the more He will use you. I'm no more special than you. I just trust, act, take one step at the time, and get amazed every time Jesus uses me for His cause.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
